There is something about playing the game that lights up a person’s eyes. But for children and…
Three years ago, a woman came into First United Methodist Church of Fuquay-Varina asking for help with her power bill. It was a cold December day, and she wasn’t wearing a coat. When the youth group learned more about her, they immediately wanted to help. They began collecting coats and handing them out to people in need. That's how the clothing closet was born.
The Clothing Closet
(Our Agency Drop Off Location Too!)
A few racks of coats have grown into an entire room full of clothes and household goods, along with multiple storage and staging rooms. The clothes are organized by season and are available for adults and children. A partnership with local teachers at local schools has also been formed to provide clothing for students in need. Twice a month, the clothing closet is open and anyone can come in and shop for what they need for themselves, their family, or their neighbors. There is no limit on how much anyone can take, and there’s never a cost.
Join us on our mission to raise $500 for the clothing closet so we can provide our local community members with the coats and clothes they need for the winter.
